If you guessed JEREMY BALON…you got it!!! 🎉🎉🎉August 2 is this guy’s 50th birthday. Happy Birthday, JB! Join us in raising a can to this Seltzer King, 50 years young, still doin’ the thing. 5 lessons from 5 decades1970s: I only got five years of this incredible decade. I remember a lot of yellow flower wallpaper, classic rock, and accidentally yanking a pot of boiling water onto my head. True story and a good lesson — always keep yer pot handles facing in, not sticking out. 1980s: I remember talking shit to a friend, calling him “stupid” over and over. (It was a trend or something.) My mom pulled me aside and said, “Jeremy! If you don’t stop calling him stupid, one of these days he might start believing it.” 1990s: The best decade. Nineties music changed my life. I worked at a full-service gas station, pumping gas. I had gotten a used motorcycle, and one of the old-timer co-owners said, “The thing about anything with a motor is, once you get a little too used to it, it can bite ya.” 2000s: The biggest lesson I learned was to grind. I worked on over twenty Film and TV projects. The most important thing is to show up, be engaged, and grind! If you fall, get back up! 2010s: This decade was all about growth, creatively and personally. The best lesson I learned was not to be a perfectionist. Just do the thing and get it out to the world. Your creative voice isn’t about perfection; it’s about consistency. 2020s: Only five years into this one, but so far Ive learnt to lean on your community. When the pandemic hit, I had the time to craft and mold an actual business plan. And while it’s always a work in progress, we’ve built something special with Seltzer Kings, and I’m grateful to everyone who took the chance with us! 🖤 |
